You're Great Once You're In the Room.

Getting There is the Problem.

Done-for-you messaging for established consultants and service providers who want the right clients arriving already convinced — before the first conversation starts.

We’ll start with a no-pressure audit of your current message. I’ll show you exactly what’s not working — and how we can fix it together. If it’s a fit, great. If not, no hard feelings.

You've Rewritten This More Times Than You'd Admit

The website. The LinkedIn summary. The "what I do" answer you keep rehearsing in the car.

You've asked ChatGPT and gotten beige consensus copy that could belong to anyone in your field.

And still, when someone asks what you do, you hear yourself launch into the four-minute version. The one that ends with polite nodding.

You can close when you're in the room. Your clients get real results. The work is good, and you know it's good.

Getting the right people to the table without waiting on a referral to wander in is where it keeps falling apart.

You've been treating your message like every other problem in your business: work harder, go back to the drawing board, do it yourself one more time.

That approach fails here for one reason: you're too close to your own expertise. You know too much. The thing your clients most need to hear feels obvious to you, so you edit it out because it doesn't sound impressive enough.

Another late night with ChatGPT won't fix that.

What fixes it is someone who understands persuasion and how your buyers decide. Someone who gets into your head, pulls out what's there, and builds the argument for your work that you've never been able to write yourself.

That's what the Message Distillery does.

What Happens When Someone Else Sees What You Can't

Mona Rose Moore came into this work doubting her message. Not sure what to keep, what to cut, or whether any of it would land.

What she didn't expect was how fast the right message surfaced once someone else was in the room asking the right questions.

After one session, she had two discovery calls. Between them, those two clients were interviewing nine other service providers. Both chose Mona.

In their words: "I wouldn't want to miss out on experiencing what you have to offer."

That isn't a sales tactic. That's what happens when your message finally says what your work has always been worth.

How It Works (And How Little You Have to Do)

This is done for you. Your only job is to get what's in your head onto the page: messy, unfiltered, in whatever order it comes.

Before each session, I send you questions in a Google Doc. No right answers, no polished sentences. Brain dump.

Before we meet, I read all of it and show up with the follow-up questions that pull out what's actually there. The live conversations are where the message gets found.

Between sessions, I build. If I need more from you, I'll ask over Voxer or email.

The Message Distillery: two 60–90 minute sessions over two weeks. You brain dump, I build.

The 3 Word Rebellion package: four sessions. Same process, deeper excavation, until we land on the phrase that makes people say "yes, that's exactly it."

By the end you have a messaging guide you can hand to a copywriter or start using yourself that afternoon, in your content, your pitches, your outreach, and every time someone asks what you do.

Which Messaging Fix Is Right For You?

What It Costs—What It's Worth

Think about what one right-fit client is worth to you. For most of the consultants and service providers I work with, a single engagement runs $4,000 to $50,000. This message is what gets that client to say yes.

And unlike a website redesign, a new funnel, or another course collecting digital dust, this is the foundation the rest gets built on. You do it once. It works for years.

And it's done. You stop carrying it around.

The Message Distillery

Your complete marketing message, built for you in two weeks.

This is for you if your message feels generic, you're leaning on referrals that are starting to slow down, and you'd rather talk for a few hours than write for a few months.

Six pieces of messaging that build the complete argument for your work:

  • Your Driving Belief Statement — what a client has to believe before they'll invest with you. The endpoint every piece of your marketing argues toward
  • Your Client Empathy Map — the lines that make decision-makers feel understood before they ever get on a call with you
  • The Problem Only Your Business Solves — the presenting problem, what triggered them to look for help, the root cause, and what it's costing them everywhere else
  • Your Unique Solution Positioning — what you do differently, and why that matters to the person making the decision
  • Your Why Buy Statement — the most compelling reason to hire you, in the length of an elevator ride
  • Your Reason to Believe — the results clients can expect, typical and best-case, so nobody has to take your word for it

Plus: training on turning all of it into content that starts conversations. LinkedIn posts, outreach emails, speaking pitches, or the private conversations that turn into contracts.

What Clients Are Saying

Kathy Almy

“I was struggling with succinctly saying what I do and what makes it valuable.”

Throughout my work with Michelle, we had a very collaborative process with a “give and take” of ideas.

I have much more clarity and it’s so much easier to write headlines, copy, emails, etc.

I would never have gotten around to finishing my messaging on my own and I’m 100% confident the result would be nothing like what I achieved with Michelle.

— Kathy Almy

Jessica Mehring

“From what I thought was a total mess, Michelle got to the core of my beliefs so quickly, it was amazing.”

I knew Michelle had a knack for helping people uncover their messages, but I was surprised to discover that the “work” on my end was basically freewriting. Michelle prompted me with questions and I just did big ol’ brain dumps on the page.

From what I thought was a total mess, Michelle pulled out themes and patterns. And the questions she asked were so insightful, I came away with so many quotes and phrases I can easily weave into my content going forward.

When you’re too close to your own stuff, give Michelle a call.

— Jessica Mehring

Camille Rapacz

“I was struggling to use language that was relatable to my clients.”

And advice I would hear about messaging left me feeling like my expertise was getting lost or that the message was too fluffy.

Michelle helped me find the right words to relate to my clients but also gave me permission to use some of my own language too. Now I am full of ideas to share and they all feel like they are on target for my audience. I’ve also been able to focus more clearly on who I’m serving and how to help them.

If you have any anxiety, frustration, or worry about your marketing plan this is the solution. Stop wasting time spinning your wheels and get clear on your messaging!

MEET DR. MICHELLE MAZUR

Dr. Michelle Mazur

I'm a messaging and marketing strategist with a PhD in Communication — which means I don't approach messaging from marketing trends or gut instinct. I approach it from the science of how people actually process information and make decisions.

Before I started working with experts, I spent seven years in corporate America doing marketing and market research for companies like Microsoft, Burt's Bees, and Kerrygold. I know how real-world buyers think — because I've spent years studying them.

Your clients aren't making decisions based on viral content or Instagram aesthetics. They're making decisions based on trust, track record, and whether your message speaks directly to the problem they're trying to solve.

I started Communication Rebel 15 years ago because I'm, frankly, psychologically unemployable — and because I kept watching brilliant experts get overlooked by people with shinier marketing and thinner credentials. That felt like a problem worth fixing.

I live in Seattle with my husband, two Maine Coon mixes, and an arguably excessive devotion to Buoy, the Seattle Kraken mascot.
